TO.GET.HER: The Cast (Jazzy De Lisser, Chelsea Logan, Adwoa Aboah, Jami Eaton, Audrey Speicher) to.get.her All teenage girls have secrets. For five friends on the cusp of high school graduation, stealing away to a beach house for a “Night of No Consequences” seems like the perfect opportunity to escape their darker one’s... You may think you know teenage girls. You have no idea. Director’s Statement Teenage girls have not changed, but their world has. As a filmmaker and as a woman, the world of the teenage girl has always fascinated me. It is such a complicated time in our lives. I believe as a girl you are not only developing physically but you are also discovering your personality, your intelligence, and your power. It can be confusing, bewildering and downright scary. I have known Jazzy De Lisser, who is now eighteen, since she was twelve and as one does, we have kept in touch with phone calls, dinners, coffees in train stations and of course Facebook. Yet as a voyeur on her profile page, I can see that my twelve to eighteen year old life experience is very different from Jazzy's last six years. Social networking and the internet have unquestionably changed the very core of how one experiences their teenage years. I wanted to make a film and tell a story that represented that time, a story that a teenage audience could hopefully recognize and identify with. A story that would not only entertain but also disturb -- and perhaps, in turn, open up a very crucial conversation.
